The Objectives

Course Aims

This course will provide delegates with an overview of Asbestos Awareness in the workplace including the dangers.

Each course includes a selection of interactive elements and mini quizzes to test the knowledge of the user throughout to keep their mind focused on the subject. The clear, concise and informative content is presented in an easy-to-understand way to ensure maximum content retention. Users will receive informative advice and guidance on the chosen subject and will be tested on their understanding of the subject at the end of the course by completing the compulsory self-test.

This section introduces you to Asbestos, The three main types, and it’s dangers including disease’s and Risks & Exposure

Asbestos and its uses

Where and when asbestos was used, the different forms of asbestos and where it can be found. This section also includes the Legislations surrounding asbestos use and managing asbestos in your environment.

Asbestos Containing Materials

In this section you will learn the High & Low Risk types of asbestos, What you should do and what should those in charge of the job do?

What can you do?

In this section you will cover how to protect yourself and ‘Top Tips’ that you shouldn’t forget when working with asbestos

Who Should Attend & Course Specifications

Those persons who are liable to disturb asbestos while carrying out their normal everyday work, or who may influence how work is carried out.

The maximum number of delegates is 8.

Minimum System Specifications

Users will need to use a PC and a web browser to access the system
The user’s PC should be running Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
Only Internet Explorer is supported (Versions 7 +)
Although not essential, it is recommended that the user’s PC has audio to fully benefit from the multimedia course content
The use of Apple Mac computers, thin-client terminals / mainframe workstations (Cytrix type set-up) or browsers other than Internet Explorer are not supported.

Certification

Delegates successfully completing the course can print a training certificate of achievement and the multiple choice test results.
