4 areas of assessment

As a contractor, you can benefit from becoming accredited with us by approving your competency level. There are two accreditation packages, Bronze (basic level) and Gold (advanced level).

Each membership has four main areas of assessment:
A full evaluation of the contractor’s Health and Safety policies, procedures, processes or other requirements that fulfils the accreditation standard as established by the Safety Services in Procurement Forum (SSIP).

The contractor will need to demonstrate compliance via:

  • Public Liability Insurance – the contractor has current public liability insurance in a minimum amount of £5million for each occurrence, and;
  • Employer’s Liability Insurance – the contractor has current employer’s liability insurance in a minimum amount for each occurrence which complies with statutory requirements.
The contractor will need to demonstrate sufficient evidence of competency in their trade area. An outline for each category will be available soon.
  • The contractor is solvent and has a turnover of at least £20k.
  • The contractor has a satisfactory credit score from a recognised credit reference agency.
If you have a trade limit of above £25,000, you are required to be on the Gold membership package.

If you are a contractor that covers 3 or more work trades you are required to be on the Gold membership package.

For the Gold membership you are required to show further evidence of competency in the form of Environmental and Sustainability checks, as well as evidence that as a Principal contractor, you can prove that you are competent to co-ordinate the work of the sub-contractors.

This is not a requirement. ACDC accept alternative forms of payment via card, over the phone, or a BACs payment.
